Meet Your Artist

Hi everyone! My name is Desiray and I am the proud owner of Ethereal Skin Atelier, formerly known as Lucid Beauty Esthetics LLC! I have been an Esthetician since 2019, gaining my Master Esthetician and AA in Esthetic Science since 2021. I wanted to venture further and started performing Permanent Makeup in 2022, then ventured into body art in 2023! I was a solo artist when I first started, then went under the wing of Gina Craig as my mentor a year later to now work out of Sorry Mom Ink in Lacey. I started my Esthetic career in Montana before quickly moving back home to Washington shortly after. I then went to school in early 2020 to earn my AA and graduated in March of 2021 due to Covid. I took the summer off to take care of my newborn daughter and then decided to start my own business in August of 2021!

For these past 4 years, I have put my heart, soul and whatever else you can think of into my business. I love to serve people and make them feel comfortable, happy and make them look at themselves the way I see them: beautiful and worthy. Esthetics has taught me how to be gentle, the patience yet gratifying results we all strive to have in our daily life and how to make someone feel radiant. Esthetics brings an uplifting feeling to the soul not only because it can make us look wonderful, but it gives a person a true perspective into self-care and how much it affects the way we look at ourselves. Tattooing has brought me, personally, a sense of self-love. Art is a way I can communicate without words, and express how I feel much like music. Being able to bring my art to fruition, permanently at that, onto someone else is mesmerizing and such a wonderful experience to go through. But being able to watch someone’s face light up, cry tears of joy, or even give someone a boost of confidence they have searched for to life? Yeah, that’s probably the best part of it all.

The Business & where it all began:

About Desiray:

Here are some fun-facts about me: I am a mom of 3, having my oldest when I was 17. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. I am a gear head and enjoy working on my VW diesel. I also am a spotter for my dad at the racetrack when we do race. I have an avid collection of backpacks from Loungefly and have an obsession with Boba. I also had facial reconstructive surgery at 16, so everything from my nose-down is different than what I was born with. I also love tattoos but cry while getting them, it’s a love-hate relationship!

I am a neurodivergent, sprinkled with some OCD and ADHD. Being recently diagnosed with autism has helped me navigate a lot of things about myself that didn’t make sense growing up. My oldest child is also autistic, being higher on the spectrum. I also have a spicy brain that likes to misfire at times, aka epilepsy. My whole identity has changed within the past 6 years with all of the above happening one right after the other. These things have truly paved the path for the way I take care each and every person I come across, especially those where it is hard to advocate for themselves.

Things I enjoy: Cars, art, music, paddle boarding, swimming, hiking, camping, horses or anything equine, photography, collecting vintage items, board games, reading, long naps in my bed or a hammock, finding new hobbies that I never have time for!

List 3 things that most people do not know about you:

I am legally blind and deaf in my left eye/ear. I was born with a bad eye and lost 100% of my hearing about 8 years ago. I only have about 80% left in my right ear. I actually have a total of 5 college degrees, ranging in AA’s and BA’s. I only use 2 of them currently. I worked for a horse barn and conditioned descendants of Secretariat for races/eventing.
